Introducing the first physical work from BASIIC.

Lines of Entropy is the result of an experiment exploring community participation. The end result is a visual representation of data loss and collaboration.

Instructions to fax a designated number were posted to the BASIIC community. Many collaborators who participated received a fax back with one simple instruction:

Fax the image they received back to BASIIC.

Collaborators from all over the world participated, and with each round trip the image changed.

This experiment began with the image presented at the top of this print, following the sequence in the center section, and ultimately ending in the nearly unrecognizable rendering presented in the lower third of the print.

CLAIM PROCESS

Collaborators who participated in the FAX project had first chance to collect a print. All 25 prints sold to participants and BASIIC holders in the presale.
